Bamidbar - Multimedia Ideas


CRAFT:
  

  1. The 12 tribes each had a special symbol and flag.  Make your own family flag.
  2. Make a flag with your Hebrew name on it, and decorate it.

MATH/LANGUAGE:  

  1. The tribes were broken down by family names. Make a chart of how many people you know with the same name. (i.e. using the popular names in your school – Benjamin, Jacob, Joshua, Rachel, Sarah, etc..) Count each category and see which name appears most often
  2. Use patterning shapes to make the 12 tribes formation around the Mishkan

SCIENCE:  

  1. Bamidbar means in the wilderness or desert. Learn about the desert.  Study desert life, climate, etc…
  2. Using a sand table, create the formation of the tribes using animals and toys to represent each tribe.  (of course play in the sand too!!)

GAME:  

  1. There are flashcards available at www.morahmoriah.com that could be used as a lotto game if you buy two sets. They are also useful as a visual aide during the acting out of this parsha.
